🦋 Why I Started This – And Why I’m Still Going

There are days this feels heavy. Building a business. Creating toolkits. Writing courses. Designing content. Pitching to institutions. It can feel like a lot. But every time I ask myself “Why am I doing this?”, I come back to one powerful answer: Because I’ve seen what happens when we don’t. I’ve worked in prisons. I’ve supported young people with complex needs. I’ve seen how rising youth crime, self-harm, trauma, and violence aren’t random, they’re symptoms. Symptoms of neglect, of pain, of survival-mode nervous systems. We punish behaviour without ever asking what’s behind it. And that’s exactly what I want to change. You don’t reduce violence with more control. You reduce it with understanding. You don’t stop trauma with silence. You stop it with safety, with tools, with connection. The Within Reach Project is based on one simple belief: when young people understand their emotions, they gain control of their future. I’m not just here to “raise awareness.” I’m building something practical, professional, and powerful: Digital toolkits for emotional growth Workbooks for young people in prisons, care, and schools Training sessions for professionals who want to do better, not just manage Licensable resources for institutions that want real, measurable change And I’m making them accessible. Beautiful. Trauma-informed. Real. Because change shouldn’t be boring. And healing shouldn’t be hidden. This isn’t just a business. This is a movement. A mission. A legacy I’m building piece by piece. Yes, I want this to be profitable, because sustainable work needs funding. But at its heart, this is about impact. Power. Belief in people who’ve been ignored for too long. Why “Within Reach”? Because growth, safety, and self-worth should never feel out of reach. Even for a 15-year-old locked in a cell. Even for a young woman who's been told her whole life she’s “too much” or “not enough.” With the right tools, the right people, and the right environment, healing becomes within reach. So here’s why I’m still going: Because the world doesn’t need more punishment, it needs more understanding. Because young people deserve better than fear and shame. Because behind every outburst is someone trying to survive. And because I truly believe: The power is already within them. I’m just here to help them reach it. Thank you for being here. Thank you for believing in this mission with me. If you want to be part of the change, whether you’re a teacher, officer, youth worker, carer, or just someone who cares, there’s a space for you here. Stay connected. Stay compassionate. And always remember: healing is always within reach.
